Algarve is a place with marvellous beaches. In Vilamoura you can find lots of things to do like going to the beach, taking a walk on the port, but you mustn´t miss trying its local dishes, mostly made up of fresh fish. The base of the meals here is mainly composed of fish, meat, vegetables and fruit. Codfish is considered the national dish. Some examples of desserts in the Algarvean gastronomy are figs stuffed with almonds, and other sweets made of almonds, honey, and fig.
